Free calculators—not professional advice.

These terms explain what TaxDue provides, the limits of a simplified estimate and what you are responsible for when using the site.

Last reviewed: 26 August 2026

Privacy policyTerms of use

Important points before you calculate

TaxDue is free. There is no subscription, account or fee for using the calculators.

Results are estimates. They simplify UK tax rules and cannot account for every person, transaction, relief or change in law.

This is not advice. TaxDue does not provide tax, legal, accounting, investment or financial advice and does not create an adviser-client relationship.

You remain responsible. Check decisions, returns, payments and deadlines with the relevant authority or a qualified professional.

Agreement to these terms

These terms apply whenever you access or use taxdue.org or a TaxDue calculator. Please read them before relying on a result. Your use of the service is subject to these terms; if you do not accept them, do not use the calculators.

The prominent estimate notice shown with the calculators forms part of these terms. Nothing in these terms removes rights that applicable law gives you and does not allow us to exclude.

The free service

TaxDue provides browser-based tools that apply stated assumptions and published tax rates to figures you enter. Use is free of charge, without an account and without a promise that the service will remain available indefinitely.

TaxDue does not act for you, contact an authority on your behalf, submit a return or claim, operate payroll, keep statutory records, monitor your account or send deadline reminders. A result does not confirm eligibility, compliance, a refund or acceptance by HMRC or another authority.

TaxDue is independent. It is not HM Revenue & Customs, Revenue Scotland, a government service, an accounting practice, a law firm or a financial adviser. Links and references do not create an affiliation, approval or endorsement.

No tax, legal or financial advice

Calculator results and explanatory content are general information and illustrative estimates. They are not a recommendation, opinion on your legal position, filing instruction or substitute for advice based on your full circumstances.

TaxDue does not assess suitability, risk tolerance or investment objectives and does not recommend a pension, investment, security, provider, transaction or course of action. Nothing on the site is a personal recommendation or an invitation or inducement to engage in investment activity.

Tax rules depend on facts the calculator may not ask about, including residence, domicile, tax code, benefits, multiple income sources, connected parties, company status, relief conditions, prior years and elections. Do not use a TaxDue result as the sole basis for a tax return, property completion, employment decision, investment, pension action or payment.

Your responsibilities

  • Enter complete and accurate figures and select the correct location, tax year, income type and circumstances.
  • Read the assumptions, exclusions, source links and calculation detail shown with the relevant tool.
  • Check the result against current official guidance and, where appropriate, a qualified tax adviser, accountant, solicitor or financial adviser.
  • Keep proper records and meet all registration, return, reporting and payment deadlines.
  • Protect sensitive information on shared devices and avoid sending it to TaxDue unnecessarily.

Accuracy, changes and availability

We take reasonable care in building the calculators and linking to reputable sources, but tax law, thresholds, official interpretations and your circumstances can change. Results can also differ from payroll, accounting software or an authority’s calculation because of timing, rounding or rules outside a tool’s scope.

Each calculator identifies its tax year and source material. A review date records when we last checked the published rates; it is not a warranty that no later announcement, correction, court decision or authority practice affects the result.

We do not promise that every result or page will always be complete, current, uninterrupted or error-free. We may correct, update, suspend or withdraw a calculator where law, data, security or service needs change. If you spot a possible error, stop relying on that result and contact us.

Responsibility when things go wrong

TaxDue is a free calculator service. We are not responsible for a loss caused by information you entered incorrectly, a factor outside the calculator’s stated scope, a change made by an authority after publication, your failure to make the checks described in these terms, or the separate acts and systems of a third party.

Where we have failed to use reasonable care and skill, we remain responsible to the extent required by law for loss that was a foreseeable result of that failure. We do not exclude or limit liability for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any other responsibility that law does not allow us to exclude.

If you use TaxDue mainly for a trade or business, we are not responsible for lost profit, revenue, business opportunity, anticipated savings, goodwill or indirect business loss. Consumer rights that cannot legally be limited remain unaffected.

Acceptable use

You may use TaxDue for lawful personal or internal business use. You must not interfere with the site, bypass security, introduce malicious code, overload the service, use automated access in a way that materially affects availability, misrepresent a result as official, or reproduce and resell TaxDue as your own service.

Reasonable indexing by search engines and linking to public pages are permitted. We may restrict access where reasonably necessary to protect the service or other users.

Intellectual property and external links

TaxDue’s original design, wording, code, organisation and calculator presentation are protected by applicable intellectual-property law. You may use results for your own records and may link to public pages, but no ownership rights are transferred.

Tax rates, government material, third-party names and marks belong to their respective owners. A third-party name is used only to identify the activity covered by a calculator. TaxDue is not endorsed by, sponsored by or commercially connected with those businesses.

External links are provided for context and verification. TaxDue does not control or guarantee another website’s content, availability, security or privacy practices.

Changes, severability and governing law

We may update these terms for legal, security or service changes. The review date above will change, and a material change will be presented clearly. Continued use after an update means the revised terms apply from that point.

If a court finds one part unenforceable, the remaining terms continue to apply. A delay in enforcing a term is not a waiver. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you are a consumer elsewhere in the UK, mandatory protections and the right to bring proceedings in the courts available to you are preserved.
