How the Student loan estimate works
The calculator applies the 2026/27 annual threshold and rate for the selected undergraduate loan and, if chosen, a postgraduate loan. It shows an annual equivalent rather than recreating each payroll run.

Questions about Student loan
Can two loan deductions apply at once?
An undergraduate-plan deduction and a postgraduate deduction can run together. You would not normally repay two undergraduate plans at the same time.
Why can a bonus change the payslip result?
Payroll applies thresholds to each pay period. A large or irregular payment can create a deduction that an annual average does not reproduce exactly.
About this estimate
Payroll works from each pay period, so irregular bonuses can produce a different deduction pattern.
