Your calculator entries stay on your device.
TaxDue is built without accounts, advertising trackers or server-side calculator storage. This notice explains how calculator entries stay on your device, how limited usage statistics work, and your rights.

The short version
Calculator data is not sent to us. Figures are processed in the page in your browser and disappear when the page is closed or refreshed.
Basic statistics, with an easy opt-out. TaxDue records cookieless page and session totals to improve the service. You can switch this off at any time without losing any feature.
No sale of data. We do not sell, rent or trade personal information.
Essential delivery only. Hosting and security systems may process basic connection data needed to deliver and protect the site.
Who we are
TaxDue is the operator of taxdue.org and provides free UK tax calculators. For the limited personal data described in this notice, TaxDue is the data controller. Privacy questions can be sent to privacy@taxdue.org.
Calculator entries are not collected
Amounts, locations, pension choices, loan plans, property values and other calculator selections are processed locally in your browser. They are not submitted to TaxDue, written to our databases, attached to an account, placed in browser storage or used to build a profile.
TaxDue has no account system and no calculator-history feature. Reloading or closing the page clears the current calculation. Anyone with access to your screen may still see what you enter, so take care on shared devices and when sharing screenshots.
Technical data needed to deliver the site
Like every internet service, our hosting, content-delivery and security providers may automatically receive limited connection information such as an IP address, browser and device type, requested page, time of request and security signals. This is separate from calculator inputs.
This processing is used only to deliver pages, balance traffic, prevent abuse, diagnose faults and maintain security. The lawful basis is our legitimate interest in providing a reliable and secure free service. We do not use this data for advertising, user profiling or deciding what tax result to show.
Basic statistical analytics
TaxDue uses limited page and session statistics to understand how the service is used and improve it. These basic statistics are enabled unless you object. The footer’s “Basic analytics — On/Off” control provides a simple, free way to switch them off or back on at any time. Turning them off does not limit any calculator or site feature.
TaxDue uses PostHog EU Cloud for this purpose. PostHog is configured in cookieless mode: it sets no analytics cookies and uses no local storage or session storage. It uses a privacy-preserving server-side hash to group page views into short-lived sessions. A page-view event may include the page path, time, browser and device information and normal connection data such as an IP address. Query strings and referring-page details are removed.
Only manually recorded $pageview events are allowed. Session totals and journeys are derived from those page views; “session” does not mean a screen recording. Click autocapture, page-leave events, session recording, heatmaps, performance capture, exception capture, surveys, product tours, web experiments, feature flags and person profiles are disabled.
Page paths may be counted across TaxDue, including calculator pages, but calculator inputs, selections and results are never included. We do not use these statistics to identify, profile, advertise to or make decisions about anyone. Recordings, detailed interaction capture or any other non-basic analytics would require a separate explicit consent mechanism and are not currently enabled.
We rely on the statistical purposes exception in UK electronic-communications law for the limited storage or access involved in producing aggregate service-improvement statistics. Where related processing involves personal data, we rely on our legitimate interest in improving and maintaining the free service, balanced by cookieless operation, data minimisation and the permanent opt-out. PostHog acts as our analytics processor, and individual-level event data is retained only as needed to produce aggregate statistics.
No profiling or automated decisions
A calculator performs arithmetic from the entries visible on your screen. TaxDue does not use those entries to profile you, decide whether you qualify for a product or service, submit anything to an authority, or make a decision that has legal or similarly significant effects. A displayed estimate is information for you to check; it is not a decision about you.
Security and data minimisation
The main safeguard is not collecting calculator entries in the first place. We also limit the service to the data needed to deliver pages, use encrypted web connections and rely on hosting and security controls intended to detect abuse and protect availability.
No online service can promise absolute security. If we become aware of a personal-data breach for which TaxDue is responsible, we will assess it, contain it and make any notification required by data-protection law.
Links to other websites
When you follow a link, the destination operates under its own privacy policy and may receive normal connection data. Links to independent guidance organisations include a non-personal campaign label—utm_source=taxdue.org—so the publisher can recognise TaxDue as the referral source. It contains no user ID, calculator value or unique click identifier.
Official government, HMRC and Revenue Scotland links are not campaign-tagged, and TaxDue asks the browser not to send the referring page. A destination may still receive information directly from your browser when you choose to visit it.
If you contact us
If you email TaxDue, we receive the address and information you choose to include. We use it only to answer the message, handle a legal or privacy request, correct the service or protect our rights. Please do not send tax returns, National Insurance numbers, bank details or other unnecessary sensitive information.
Correspondence is kept only for as long as needed for the enquiry and any reasonable legal or security record, normally no longer than 12 months unless a longer period is required by law or an ongoing dispute.
Your data-protection rights
Where TaxDue holds personal data about you, UK data-protection law may give you rights to ask for access, correction, erasure, restriction, portability or an objection to processing. The exact rights depend on the circumstances and lawful basis. Because calculator entries never reach TaxDue, we cannot retrieve or identify them.
Your choices: use the “Basic analytics — On/Off” control in the footer to object to basic statistics or turn them back on at any time. You may also object to processing based on legitimate interests by emailing privacy@taxdue.org. You may complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office.
We may need enough information to verify that a request relates to you, but we will not ask for more than is reasonably necessary. We normally respond within one month, subject to the extensions and exceptions allowed by law.
Changes and contact
We review this policy when the service or law changes. The date at the top shows the latest review. Any material change to how calculator data is handled will be made clear before the new practice begins.
